Embossing powders

Back in 1996, when I was playing with rubber stamping and admiring the color qualities of embossing powders, a friend got commissioned to illustrate a quote on animals and Africa. I love animals and Africa had such an exotic allure, and words can speak to the soul. That is what happened the power of the quote so enthralled and inspired me that I had to express my feelings on the charge of these things coming together. Somehow I got the idea of using the embossing powders as the "paint" medium and, cutting partial silhouettes out of poster boards, I created my own "Lion and Gazelle in Africa" creation. My friend truly rocks at calligraphy (the main reason for her commission) but I gave it a shot too. Eeh, think I'll stick with animals.
THE LION AND THE GAZELLE
Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up and he knows that he must run faster than the fastest lion, or he will be eaten.
Every morning in Africa a lion wakes up and he knows that he must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or he will starve to death.
It doesn't matter whether you are a gazelle or a lion. When the sun comes up, you had better be running!
